Dumb things you hear customers say...

Does Wal-Mart really suck? Let's hear your opinion.

When a customer acts rude or childish, I simply say "Merry Christmas" to them, it's not rude on my part, but I'm sure they get the message. And some of the looks I get back from them are priceless, when they realized that maybe they need to be nicer, especially at this time of year

If I open my mouth, I'll say something smartass, so I just stare at them blankly until they "get it." Looks better? Tastes better? Cures cancer better?!

You are a f*cktard associate. I hate bakey ladies, they are so rude and seem to be in such a hurry. The customer only want your opinion, it's not an obvious answer. Why is it so hard to give your input or which is better?

I had a friend at work the other day get fired for cusing a customer out all because the customer comes in just to make trouble all of the time.He picks on people he doesn't like and if they aren't particularly nice to him the way he wants them to be he goes to management and argues to them about this person and gets her fired. All for stupd crap so she retaliated against him and cused him out in front of him which I don't blame her.

I don't blame her either even though I'm unaware of the exact circumstances, but in situations like that the customer almost ALWAYS wins. If you wish to preserve your job it's best to keep quiet. Then head up to the hospital for stitches because you've bitten your tongue so hard.

Today at work:

Customer: Where is the shoe polish?

Me: It's in the shoe department.

Customer: With the shoes?

Me: Yes, the shoes are in the shoe department.

The other day:
customer: where are the hand baskets?
me: I guess we don't have any more because I haven't seen any for a couple of weeks.
customer: so you're telling me that there are no hand baskets.
me: yes
customer: none at all?
me: you got it.
customer: walks off in a huff and was speaking to another associate, probably about the same thing

Where are the eggs?
Where is the milk?
Where is the velveeta cheese?(this one might be understandable)

I hear these 3 questions every day.

I should've clairied that this is when I'm working in dairy that they ask me these questions.

The market manager made us move the milk to the center of the wall so that you can see it from the ENTRANCE yet..people still ask, where is the milk?

heres mine I get asked on the phone or in person

customer: do you have so and so?

Me: nope either we are out or dont carry it

customer: so you dont have so and so?

Me: nope

Customer: ok and then they walk off either to go ask someone else the exact same question and get the same answer.

I dont understand why ask the same question two times in a row when I said nope the first time because we are out or dont carry it?

See my post up about 4-5, it's about the same, we don't have any hand held baskets because people keep stealing them and then wonder why we don't have any :P

Because they know half of the time the salesfloor associate is too lazy and full of shit and will lie just so they dont have to hunt it down. I was doing salesfloor counts and overheard an associate tell a customer we dont have something. I just had audited the bins and knew it was in the back. I pulled the customer aside and started talking with them. I scanned the mod home, and lo and behold, it was scanned in a bin. On a pallet no less. I asked the customer if they didn't mind waiting because I have to drop a pallet and it would take a few minutes. Not only did I get what the customer asked for, I pulled enough to fill the shelf and binned a case in a bin that was reachable. Checked the onhands and shelf cap while I was at it also. ICS, the new salesfloor associate/department manager?
